We enable true team collaboration with our cloud-based CCMS (Component Content Management System) for authoring, managing, publishing, and translating technical documentation. In short, we are transforming the way business-critical technical knowledge is documented. The company is now expanding fast, due to high demand from international customer base, consisting of Fortune 100 companies.
As part of the expansion, Paligo is now looking for a CTO to help us scale and drive the change.
About the role
As a CTO/Head Of Software Engineering, you will have the highest responsibility for building and leading the developer team and technology direction at Paligo. You will create the vision for the team and identify and evaluate the right software engineering skills which the company needs. You will have the opportunity to be deeply involved in hiring an exceptional team with the right talent to execute on the vision for Paligo.
Furthermore, you will have overall responsibility for the company's tech stack, which means ensuring that the right IT/Tech resources are available for the business's needs. You will also lead the process in adding relevant technology to the stack across all departments, as well as auditing and removing redundant or problematic technology.
As CTO you will work closely, and in collaboration with, all of our departments, be part of the management team and report directly to the CEO.
The responsibilities for this role include:
- Lead all technical work to achieve the company's technical vision and development
- Identify and evaluate the skills required to build the development team, and help to find and recruit these people
- Evaluate, approve and strategize the long-term development of the tech stack and the technical architecture
- Improve and document internal development procedures
- Responsible for the development team delivering at the right pace in relation to the product roadmap.
- Create a team culture where employees experience the right conditions to develop, and achieve set goals
- Daily management of the development team (currently 15 people - backend, front-end and full-stack developers) including career development and managerial support
- KPI’s which support the growth of all teams and departments at Paligo.
You will report to the CEO and be part of the management team. The position is based in Stockholm.

Requirements of experience
- Experience of previous roles that included overall responsibility for an IT/Tech department.
- Experience of Management within a fast-paced business and ability to set structure and processes.
- Broad knowledge of different techniques, e.g. various backend technologies, React, Angular, Docker, AWS etc.
- Good understanding of backend and front-end web-related languages.
- Experience in team management.
- Technical education in programming/systems science or similar.
- Professional or Native English and Swedish..
It is meriting if you have
- Experience with a CCMS or other type of CMS solution is a big plus.
- Experience in working with information security (for example ISO27001 certification).
- Experience from AWS environments.
